Operation Instructions
Ecobuoy shows as a large fish on your sonar/echo sounder/fish finder and gives the position relative
to your boat and the seabed below you.

Attach Ecobuoy a known distance [say 2 meters] to the equipment you are placing on the seabed.
Ecobuoy now floats 2m above your equipment.
On your screen you will now observe a large fish symbol 2m above your equipment and the seabed.
You now know the position of your equipment relative to your boat and the seabed. Attaching two
Ecobuoy’s, spaced at known distances on a line generates an unmistakable image on the sounder screen.
Use Ecobuoy to place your equipment in the desired area to catch more fish, align with other
equipment easily or place research / observation equipment exactly where you want it.
Your GPS will get you close to lost equipment and with Ecobuoy attached you can position your boat
directly over the top making it easier to retrieve.
Retrieving lost equipment saves costly replacement.
Ecobuoy can assist in reducing ghost fishing in this manner.
If you use Ecobuoy for any interesting applications we would be pleased if you spare the time to
contact us with details at ecobuoy@netspace.net.au. We will add this to our website at a later time.
Do not use Ecobuoy as a joiner or link to lift a load, as it is not designed for this function.
Ecobuoy’s are manufactured with UV inhibitors, however all plastics eventually weaken with constant
exposure, so to prolong the life, keep it out of the sun when not in use.
